‘The Delivery Boy’, a Nollywood thriller directed by Adekunle Adejuyigbe, Nigerian filmmaker better known as Nodash

‘The Delivery Boy’, a Nollywood thriller directed by Adekunle Adejuyigbe, Nigerian filmmaker better known as Nodash, has been chosen to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming Pan-African Film Festival (PAFF).

PAFF is the US’ largest gathering of black filmmakers, audiences and other stakeholders from around the world.

Adejuiyigbe took to his socials to break the good news.

“Once again, I’ve been invited to represent Something Unusual Studios, TEFT, Nigeria and Nigerian Cinema at PAFF, the largest black film festival in the US,” Adekunle Adejuyigbe ‘Nodash’ wrote on Instagram.

“I’m humbled. It’s a reminder to me, and to all filmmakers, that the world is paying attention to Nigerian cinema. We must remember to pay even more attention to ourselves, our work.

“Hollywood is proof that we can entertain, make money, and elevate our people at the same time.

“For people outside the film industry, remember that most of us formed our impressions about America, India, and China through their films before we ever met their citizens.

“It’s a fact that people will form their impressions from our films before they meet you. First impressions will be made on Netflix, Disney, Amazon prime, and at international film festivals.

“It’s time for you to get a little more involved. Start simple and see where it goes. And, if you are in the US of A, then I’ll be seeing you in LA soon.”

Nodash’s selection as Nigeria’s representative would see his movie, which explores the backstory of terrorists in Nigeria, undergo yet another screening at the festival.

‘The Delivery Boy’ had snagged the ‘Beat Achievement in Visual Effects’ award at the 2019 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

The movie also screened at Jagran International Film Festival, Lake International Pan African Film Festival, and Real-Time International Film Festival — winning the ‘Best Nigerian Film’ category at the 2018 AFRIFF Globe Awards.

As the filmmaker announced, the annual event is billed to hold from February 13 to 23, 2020, at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, in Los Angeles, California.
