Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, is currently in China to inspect some of the locomotives (trains) built for Nigeria by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCRC).
Surrounded by some CCRC officials, the Nigerian minister test run one of the two motored cars at the company’s premises in Qisuyan district, Changzhou, China.
Rotimi Amaechi assured passengers plying the Abuja-Kaduna rail line that more trains would soon be added to the route. He said this as he was taking delivery of trains built for Nigeria in China.
Amaechi said that the trains built by a Chinese firm, CRRC include two-motored cars and four locomotive trains.
He said that the trains would soon be in Nigeria.
Speaking on the distribution of the trains, Rotimi Amaechi said, they (trains) would service the Abuja-Kaduna and Lagos-Ibadan rail lines.
Rotimi Amaechi said, “Yesterday (Wednesday), I test-ran and took delivery of more trains in China to service the Abuja-Kaduna and Lagos-Ibadan rail lines. For those complaining that the trains are not enough, especially for the Abuja-Kaduna route, we heard your cries, the trains are coming!”
